Surrenden Pool, which sits on the same campus as Dorothy Stringer School, is managed as a partnership between the school and Brighton & Hove City Council. The council maintain the infrastructure of the pool, and the school manage its day to day activities.
We seek to appoint a Lifeguard to join our team, specifically to cover the following shifts:
Tuesdays 8.45am-12.15pm
Wednesdays 1.45pm-2.45pm
Wednesdays 7.30pm – 8:30pm
Fridays 7.20am-8:40am
More shifts may become available throughout the year. This position provides an excellent opportunity for the chosen candidate to join our recently refurbished pool by the Local Authority.
The successful candidates will need to hold a NPLQ qualification, as well as having a good understanding of swimming pool compliance and the associated Health & Safety rigour. Have the ability to work in partnerships within and beyond the school, and the passion to ensure the successful running of the pool.

We are looking for reliable individuals to join our professional team of examination invigilators for the February mock exams (24 February to 4 March) and Summer 2025 public exams (8 May to 26 June). Applicants will be required to work either morning or afternoon sessions (or both if preferred).
Under the supervision of our lead invigilator, you will be required to supervise students, assist with distribution and collection of examination papers and deal with student queries.
Applicants must be available for at least 7 of the 14 sessions in February and a minimum of 5 sessions a week in the summer. Applicants will also need to be available for the majority of our whole cohort GCSE exams in the summer series, the dates of these are:
English : Monday 12 May (AM), Tuesday 20 May (AM), Friday 23 May (AM), Friday 6 June (AM)
