Week 2 in Dolawen is under way!
Lots to celebrate over at @dorothystringerpe over the past couple of weeks!
Our staff vs Year 11 football and netball matches were a brilliant way to mark the end of five years of sport at Stringer for our Year 11 students, and the Year 11 football team then went on to win the County Cup final in a brilliant match against Steyning.
Our Year 7 and 8 students had a fantastic time at Yellowave taking part in a beach volleyball tournament. Our Year 7 team came 2nd and our Year 8 team finished as winners!
Our Year 7 students also did a fantastic job at Brighton Schools Super 6 athletics tournament at Withdean, taking 1st place overall! We look forward to seeing the team represent Brighton & Hove in the Sussex Finals in June.
Well done to everyone taking part in extra-curricular sport at school this term, great to see lots of you getting involved 👏

A huge well done to all of the Year 9 students who took part in our DofE practice expedition this weekend. We had over 100 students take part and they all did brilliantly - the instructors were full of praise for their behaviour and positive attitudes 👏
Thank you as well to the staff who gave up their sunny weekend to support the students with their expedition ☀️

GCSE exams are underway and we would like to wish all our Year 11 students the best of luck for the exam season.
Remember we will be running revision breakfasts before all whole-cohort exams with your teachers on hand to give some last minute tips and support 🥐📚

Huge congratulations to our student Polina, who came second in the Grand Final of the Brighton & Hove Young Speakers Challenge at the end of last term 👏 The competition was tough and the the speeches took place in a huge lecture hall with hundreds in attendance so we are all extremely proud.
Thank you to the students and parents who came along to support Polina too - it was lovely to see you there on the evening!

School is now closed for the Easter holidays. We look forward to seeing students and staff when school reopens on Tuesday 22 April. We will be on Week 1 of the timetable.
