Alumni
After you have left Dorothy Stringer, life goes on! Students and staff are now given the opportunity to register with the Alumni when they leave the school. This is a point of reference to find old friends, keep in touch with life at Stringer and to be informed about reunions.
If you have not registered yet, you can do so by emailing [email protected]. or you can leave your details at school reception (telephone: 01273 852222). Your details will not be passed on to anyone outside of Dorothy Stringer School.
We are working on developing our Stringer memorabilia or archive area, and would welcome new contributions. We also hope to have a video area so we can capture your memories and record how education and society has changed since the school first opened its doors in 1955.
PAST EVENTS
Stringer Open House and Ex-Student Reunion – Sunday 13 May 2018
We held a joint event combining the school’s annual Open House with a Stringer Archive area and school tours for ex-students. This proved very successful and a great opportunity for our ex-students to visit the school on one of the most vibrant days of the school calendar.
Visitors saw some wonderful Art and Design work by students as well as live performances from the Drama and Music Departments, and were able to take part in some activities laid on by the Environment Department. It was truly a festival atmosphere, with arts and crafts stalls from the local community and food and drink stalls too.
A great chance to visit your old school, tour the school as it is now, revisit old memories, chat to other ex-students and perhaps share experiences over a cup of coffee and a piece of cake.
We merged our annual Open House event with our Stringer Reunion. It was a great opportunity for our ex-students and staff to visit the school on one of the most vibrant days of the school calendar. Thanks to Miss Middleton and Mrs Moffat, who created a reunion area where ex-students met and shared experiences over a cup of coffee and some cake.
We had a video booth to record memories and impressions of how education and society has changed since the school first opened its doors in 1955.
